A brief history lesson:

The new Ford Motor Company cars were dominant during the 1968 NASCAR Grand National series stock car racing season. In just one short year, Plymouth and Dodge drivers had gone from winning almost every race at every superspeedway to being nearly shut out. It also didn't help that Chrysler's star driver, Richard Petty, jumped ship to Ford in 1969.

The recessed grill of the street Chargers trapped too much air at high speeds, so Chrysler engineers set out on a crash course to correct them for the 1969 season. The direct result was the development of the Plymouth Superbird, which won Petty back to Chrysler for the 1970 season.

The 1970 Daytona 500 was the first time that all four of the special aero-cars developed by Ford and Chrysler raced head to head in superspeedway trim. Sadly, due to the un-safe increased speeds generated by these factory built Aerowarriors, NASCAR limited all of the special aerobodied cars to 305 cc engines, which automatically made these famous winged cars obsolete for the 1971 season.

This mod attempts to recreate the day when the Aerowarriors ruled the track!

Requirements:

You must install the v1.2.0.1 patch for NR2003 by Papyrus before installing this mod!

A complete 1970 NASCAR Grand National Superspeedway carset accompanies this mod, along with Short Track addon-on cars and additonal cars from the 1969 and 1970 seasons. All cars and templates are high-resolution versions. A no-helmet pit crew changer application finishes out the official add-ons for this mod.
